Say hello to the softest & sweetest crochet octopus for your Baby! Hand made, Ollie is designed to bring comfort to your NICU, PICU or special care nursery baby.

The experience of having your baby in hospital is not one I would wish on anyone. Yet sadly many of us have to go through this experience, and I'd like to say I'm so sorry you're going through this and my prayers are with you.

My son Alfie was born with CHD (congenital heart defect) and spent many weeks in hospital. He used octopuses whilst in PICU to help keep him calm.

So, I made it my mission to hand make them for your little ones too!

DETAILS:

  • Ollie is our larger size octopus, his head is approximately 9.5cm wide at the largest part.
  • Made from soft chenille yarn sourced in Australia.
  • 8 thick soft curly tentacles for baby to grab on to.
  • x3 gorgeous colours to choose from, Blush, Mushroom & Seafoam.
  • CARE: Able to be washed at 60deg

BENEFITS OF AN OCTOPUS FOR NICU BABIES:

  • The tentacles replicate the umbilical cord - and Bubs loves to grab and hold onto it for comfort.
  • Prevents Bubs from pulling other cords and tubes out & saves the trauma of them being reinserted.
  • Stabilises their heat rate (comforting).
  • Increases their oxygenation (also comforting).
  • Can be used as a support under intubation tubing.
  • They also become a life long friend & a very adorable way to measure your baby’s growth.

Ollie is made to order right here in Adelaide.

Ollie is not limited to NICU or PICU babies, he’s also a beautiful comforter for all babies & children (please remember to always follow SIDS guidelines).

 *Mini Ollie also available here

*please note all hospitals have specific rules about the use of 'toys' in the NICU and nursery & some still do not allow any in. We are not liable if the octopus is purchased and then not allowed into NICU.
